SLOW DOWN, and MOVE OVER when you see flashing lights

Your neighbors, your friends, the person(s) that you love, are all affected by the Slow Down Move Over law. In an instant an emergency responder, a public utility worker, a traffic control specialist, a crash victim, or a good Samaritan can be severely injured or killed due to the negligent act of disregarding the SDMO law. Don’t be that driver that is responsible for the death of someone who was just doing their job. Their #LivesAreOnTheLine

Let them go home to their families, #GiveThemRoomToWork

News

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed a measure on March 17th, 2023 to expand the Slow Down Move Over law to include ALL vehicles on the side of the road displaying warning lights (which includes standard hazard flashers).

It’s common sense and common courtesy. When you see a vehicle stationary on the side of the road, reduce your speed and move over at least 1 traveling lane if safely possible. If you have ever been stuck on the side of the road with vehicles blowing by you and felt the wind and heard the roar of passing motorists, you’ve felt like you were too close to traffic and in danger. Pay attention, slow down and move over for anyone on the side of the road. You could save a life.
